Well, I'm making some progress in the blogging business. I've been added to the
Homeschool Blogwatch! I'm excited to welcome new readers to my little spot here on the internet. I'm new at blogging, but I hope to keep the entries frequent, interesting, and most importantly, encouraging.
Congrats on the addition to the Blogwatch! Now you know you are someone...ok, that might be taking it a bit far, but how exciting.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment on my blog. I really appreciated it and agree with you. I will be very interested in reading your thoughts on the "rod" as I am also working on a study on that topic.
There are so many things I would like to add to this conversation, but I do not want my blog to become about the Pearls. Some things have to be said, but there are other things to be said as well. I think you commented on the post in which I said something about not wanting to define my views by those I disagree with. I find myself beginning an entry and wanting to contrast what I have to say against what is contained within NGJ materials and I have to ask myself if it is really necessary.
I have a whole series going on motivation which is attempting to arrive at a scriptural view of the child and how to connect with his heart...so many points stand in direct opposition to what is taught in the NGJ materials. I think I'm going to focus on that for a bit...as my favorite Principle Approach speaker says, "We have no business tearing down if we cannot offer a positive, biblical alternative." (Katherine Dang...paraphrased. She said it better.)
