Wordless Wednesday: Beauty in the Late Summer Garden

  1. You know....I was looking at a beautiful butterfly the other day and you can still see the caterpillar on it and I thought, he must just be amazed that he can see the world from a whole new perspective now...flying over beautiful flowers and not hugging the sidewalk or tree bark or a leaf. Plus, he has no idea how gorgeous his wings are! (I'm using "he" in the generic sense.) It's just beautiful...good photography too!

  2. i agree. this morning we had two monarch butterflies hatch from their chrysalises and i had the same thought. they are so beautiful and so fragile, and they go from having simple eyes and only able to see light and shadow to compound eyes where they can see the world for the first time. then, off they flew to Mexico! how do they know to do that?
